外国旅游者申请签证须知

 

来华旅游的外国人应当持L签证入境,在签证标明的停留期内或者有效期内停留,需超过期限在宁停留的,应向市公安局出入境管理处重新申请签证。

一、       签证申请

(一)来华旅游的外国人可以申请有效期1个月以内零次、一次签证,最多可以申请两次。

申请签证时,须回答有关询问并提供下列材料:

1.本人有效护照及L签证的原件和复印件;

2.临时住宿登记证明;

3.填写《外国人签证、居留许可申请表》,粘贴一张近期二寸半身正面免冠照片;

4.提供能够保证在华生活费用的经济证明(现钞、旅行支票、汇票单据、现金卡等,每天按100美元计算)。

(二)来华看病或因其他私人事务入境的外国人可以申请有效期三个月以内的零次、一次入境签证,只能申请一次。

申请签证时,须回答有关询问并提供下列材料:

1.本人有效护照及L签证的原件和复印件;

2.临时住宿登记证明;

3.填写《外国人签证、居留许可申请表》,粘贴一张近期二寸半身正面免冠照片;

4.来华看病申请签证,须提供县级以上医院诊断证明;

5.因其他私人事务申请签证,须提供相关证明。

二、签证补办

持新护照的外国人申请补办签证,除上述所需材料外,还须提供下列材料:

1.因丢失护照领取新护照者,须提供公安机关出入境管理部门出具的护照报失证明或者外国驻华使馆、领馆照会;

2.因护照即将到期或者签证页用完等情况领取新护照者,须提供本次入境时所持护照;

3.在中国境内出生的、单独持有护照的外籍婴儿,须提供外籍婴儿的出生证明及父母双方的护照复印件。

三、注意事项

1.外国人申请签证,必须按照中国政府主管部门的有关规定缴纳费用。

2.持用L签证的外国人不得在华任职或就业。对在中国非法居(停)留或具有其它违法行为的外国人或责任人,公安机关将依法予以处罚。

3.上述可以申请签证的有效期及签证的入境次数,应以公安机关出入境管理部门最终批准的结果为准。

4.公安机关出入境管理部门有权依法拒发外国人签证、证件,对已发出的签证、证件有权吊销或宣布作废。

5、受理、审批、签发签证、证件需5个工作日。

Notice to Foreign Tourists Applying for Visa

Foreigner coming to China to travel should enter China with L-visa. L-visa holders can stay in China within the valid staying period specified on their visas. Those who wish to extend their stay should re-apply for another visa from the Exit and Entry Administration Division of Public Security Bureau.

 

.  Applying for L-Visa

(A)    Foreigner coming to China to travel can apply for zero-entry or single-entry L-visa that is valid for up to one month. The maximum times that they can apply is twice.

Applicants should answer related questions if asked, and provide the following documents:

1.      Applicant’s original and valid passport and L-visa, as well as copies of the applicant’s passport and L-visa;

2.      Temporary Residence Registration Certificate;

3.      Properly-completed Foreigner’s Visa and Residence Permit Application Form with a photograph of the applicant’s affixed to the form. The photograph should be:

l      two inches in size

l      taken recently, showing current appearance

l      show full face and front view with a plain white or off-white background

l      taken in normal street attire (do not wear a hat or headgear that obscures the hair or hairline);

4.      Financial documents (such as cash, traveler’s checks, draft, cash card, etc.) verify that the applicant has enough financial source to cover the living expenses during the stay in China. The estimated living expenses is $100 per day.

 

(B) Foreigners who come to China to seek medical treatment or for any other personal reasons can apply for zero-entry or single-entry L-visa that is valid for three months. The maximum time that they can apply is only once.

Applicants should answer related questions if asked, and provide the following documents:

1. Applicant’s original and valid passport and L-visa, as well as copies of the applicant’s passport and L-visa;

2.    Temporary Residence Registration Certificate;

3.    Properly-completed Foreigner’s Visa and Residence Permit Application Form with a photograph of the applicant affixed to the form. The photograph should be:

l      two inches in size

l      taken recently, showing current appearance

l      show full face and front view with a plain white or off-white background

l      taken in normal street attire (do not wear a hat or headgear that obscures the hair or hairline);

4.    Applicants who wish to seek medical treatment in China should also provide diagnosis documents issued by a hospital that is at or above the county level;

5.    Applicants who come to China for other personal reasons should provide relevant documents.

 

. Re-applying for Visa

In addition to the above-mentioned required documents, foreigners holding new passports and re-applying for L-visas must also provide the following documents:

1.    If you hold a new passport because your previous passport was lost, stolen, or damaged, you should provide certificate of passport loss report issued by the departments that are in charge of administration of exit and entry under the public security bureau or provide documents issued by relevant foreign embassy or consulate in China;

2.    If you hold a new passport because your previous passport was expired or your visa pages had run out, you should provide the previous passports that you used when you entered China;

3.    For foreign infants born in China and holding separate passports, their parents should present the original birth certificates of the infants and copies of the infant’s parents’ passports.

 

.  PROVISIONS

1.    Applicants must pay visa application fee in accordance with the relevant regulations of competent organs of Chinese government.

2.    L-visa holders are forbidden to work in China. The public security units will impose punishment in accordance with law on those foreigners or responsible persons who unlawfully reside or stay in China or break law in China.

3.    Applicants’ valid staying period and the total entry times should be based on the result of the approval by the departments in charge of administration of exit and entry under public security bureau.

4.    The departments in charge of administration of exit and entry under public security bureau have the right to refuse to issue visas and documents to foreigners in accordance with law, and to revoke the issued visas and documents or declare null and void.

5.    The normal processing time, including accepting application, examination, approval, and issuing a visa, is five business days.
