中华人民共和国政府和特立尼达和多巴哥共和国政府(以下简称“缔约双方”),为了加强两国间业已存在的友好关系,促进中华人民共和国香港特别行政区和特立尼达和多巴哥共和国之间的经济、贸易的发展和便利旅行,通过友好协商,就中华人民共和国香港特别行政区和特立尼达和多巴哥共和国之间的互免签证问题议定如下:
第 一 条
中华人民共和国公民持有效的中华人民共和国香港特别行政区护照、入、出或途经特立尼达和多巴哥,免办签证,停留期限由对方主管部门决定;特立尼达和多巴哥公民持有效的特立尼达和多巴哥护照,入、出或途经中华人民共和国香港特别行政区,免办签证,停留期限由对方主管部门决定。
第 二 条
一、本协定第一条所述护照持有人,在对方境内逗留期间,应遵守其有关法律和规定。
二、本协定第一条所述护照持有人,如在对方境内停留欲逾免签期限,应根据规定向对方主管部门申请,并获同意。
第 三 条
本协定不限制中华人民共和国香港特别行政区政府和特立尼达和多巴哥政府的如下权力:拒绝不受欢迎或不可接受的对方人员进入自己管辖区内或者终止其在该管辖区内的逗留,并无须说明理由。
第 四 条
由于国家安全、公共秩序、公共卫生等原因,缔约一方可临时中止实施本协定的全部或者部分条款。但缔约一方应通过外交途径将此提前通知另一方,并自通知之日起生效。
第 五 条
一、缔约双方应当自本协定签字之日起三十日内,通过外交途径交换本协定第一条所述护照样本。
二、缔约一方如更新上述护照式样,应当提前三十日通过外交途径通知缔约另一方,并提供新护照样本。
第 六 条
一、本协定自一九九七年七月一日起生效。
二、本协定无限期有效。缔约一方可在任何时候通过外交途径书面通知另一方终止本协定,并自通知之日起第九十日生效。
三、缔约双方经协商,可通过适当方式补充或修改本协定。
第 七 条
自一九九七年七月一日起,中华人民共和国中央人民政府授权香港特别行政区政府执行本协定。
本协定于一九九七年三月二十四日在西班牙港签订,一式两份,每份分别用中文和英文写成,两种文本同等作准。

AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TRINIDAD ANDTOBAGO AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA ON MUTUALEXEMPTION OF VISA REQUIREMENTS BETWEEN THE HONG KONG SPECIAL ADMINISTRA-TIVE REGION OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA AND THE REPUBLIC OF TRINIDADAND TOBAGO

The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and theGovernment of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to asthe ContractingParties), with a view to strengthening the existingfriendly relations between the two countries, promoting trade and economicdevelopment and facilitating travel between the Hong Kong SpecialAdministrative Region of the People's Republic of China and the Republicof Trinidad and Tobago, have, through friendly consultations, reachedagreement on the mutual exemption of visa requirements between the HongKong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China andthe Republic of Trinidad and Tobago as follows:
Article I
Citizens of the People's Republic of China, holding valid passports ofthe Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic ofChina,shall be exempted from visa requirements for entry into, exit fromor transit through the territory of Trinidad and Tobago, the duration ofstay to be determined by the competent authorities; Citizens of Trinidadand Tobago, holding valid passports of Trinidad and Tobago shall beexempted from visa requirements for entry into, exit from or transitthrough the territory of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region ofthe People's Republic of China, the duration of stay to be determined bythe competent authorities.
Article II
1. The passport holders referred to in Article I shall abide by therelevant laws and regulations of the other Contracting Party during theirstay in its territory.
2. The passport holders referred to in Article I shall submitapplications, in accordance with the regulations, to the competentauthorities for permission to stay in the territory of the otherContracting Party if such a stay would exceed the valid period of visaexemption.
Article III
This Agreement does not restrict the right of the Hong Kong SpecialAdministrative Region of the People's Republic of China and the Republicof Trinidad and Tobago to prohibit personae non grata or unacceptablepersons of the other Contracting Party from entering its territory or toterminate their stay in its territory without citing reasons therefor.
Article IV
Either Contracting Party may temporarily suspend the implementation ofthis Agreement partly or wholly on grounds of national security, publicorder and public health. However, the other Contracting Party throughdiplomatic channels, shall be notified in advance of such suspension ofthe Agreement and the suspension shall enter into force upon the day ofthat notice.
Article V
1. The Contracting Parties shall, through diplomatic channels,complete the exchange of samples of the passports referred to in Article Iwithin 30 days of the signing of this Agreement.
2. Either Contracting Party, in case of any change in the format ofits passports, shall inform the other Contracting Party, throughdiplomatic channels, 30 days in advance and shall furnish it with samplesof the new passports.
Article VI
1. This Agreement shall enter into force on 1 July 1997.
2. This Agreement shall remain valid for an indefinite period of time.Either Contracting Party may terminate this Agreement at any time bywritten notification through diplomatic channels, and this notificationshall be effective on the ninetieth day after the date of that notice.
3. Additional clauses or amendments to this Agreement may be made, asappropriate, by the Contracting Parties after consultations.
Article VII
The Central People's Government of the People's Republic of Chinashall, with effect from 1 July 1997, authorize the Government of the HongKong Special Administrative Region to implement this Agreement.
